We had a great day on Sunday. Sue from Batribike came along with all the models of bikes and trikes, and helped me demonstrate and educate the public about electric bikes. Around 40 people came throughout the day, and without exception everyone came back from a test ride with a smile on their faces! Comments included: ‘they are so easy to ride’, ‘wow,’ they are light and easy to use’, ‘ they go quite fast’, ‘ that’s the most fun I’ve had on a bike for ages’. Ages of the test riders ranged from 14 to 83, so there is an electric bike for everyone. People were keen to learn about the change in legislation regarding e bikes. From January 2016, bikes will not have a fully operating throttle, just pedal assist, so if you want a twist and go version, get ordering before Christmas. Lots of thanks to Andy and Lauren for making coffees, and even more thanks to Paul at Tudor Bakehouse for supplying the cakes. There will be another open day in the spring, when the weather will be more suitable for 2 wheels.
