In preparation for our Trans-Europe ride in July, we set out on a practise ride, to check out our camping skills. We left on Friday evening and cycled to Southwold. After a few pints at the Harbour Inn we managed to sleep well. On Saturday we cycled to Maningtree via the lanes of South Suffolk and Essex. Very hot too. We camped at Strangers Home, a pub campsite with a live band, fairly noisy but very welcoming. Sunday saw us travelling back to rainy Norfolk. We did about 170 miles and reminded ourselves that cycle camping is a little more strenuous than plain cycling!
